Jammer of the Month for May 2009 is Roblock.
ROBLOCK was formed by David McCall and Tom Wagoner with a desire to create exciting, fun, original rock and roll. They recruited a good friend and previous bandmate, Dave Grant, to bring the rock with his incredible guitar skills. The trio enjoyed a tightness not normal to a newer band since they all had played together previously. The missing front man piece was the most recent to be perfectly fitted by Joel Squires. His vocals etch memorable melodies into the songs and his creative percussive ventures infuse an element of surprise and discovery in the songs.
ROBLOCK fuses classic Rock and Roll sound with creative percussion, modern looping and effects techniques to create a surprisingly layered and full sound with just four members. Its leafy concepts and branching diversity in style always come back to deep roots in the earth of classic Rock&Roll. Characterized by thundering rock drums, frenetic-yet-hooky guitar leads, layered loops, and confessional vocals, ROBLOCK is at once on the cutting edge of tomorrow's music and firmly planted in the rock of the 70s and 80s.
Something else interesting about ROBLOCK:
ROBLOCK supports the openness of information and fan-generated media. Though we do copyright our songs and reserve the rights to them, we like to give some away. We also don't restrict what fans can generate and actually facilitate the sharing of fan photos, bootleg recordings, and art on the http://drop.io/roblockdrop page. Share yours there.
Roblock is on a ton of sites. Gotta stay networked!
