Here's a little interview to help you get more acquainted with Tom, our Drummer (yes, with a capital "D"!).

On Thursday, July 2nd, we rocked WhatzUp's battle of the bands 6 at Columbia Street West.  We were first to play that night. They seem to have set up the set orders by bands with fewest Fort Wayne fans to bands with most Fort Wayne fans. Since we are still a really new band and our album isn't even out yet, we went on first. We did make the most of it, though, and the judges sure liked us! We were ranked #2 in "Song Quality" of ALL the bands competing (not just this night--well over 40 bands). The only band to beat us in that category (by two points) was the band that went on to win all the marbles (that also won last year). 

We made some connections, including a judge that owns the Wooden Nickel stores in Fort Wayne. He invited us to play at one of their stores when our album comes out in order to promote it. Thanks, Robert!

On Saturday, June 27th, ROBLOCK put on a show with Darkroom for their studio send-off show. Wax Eyes started the evening off at 8:00. This was Darkroom's last show before they hit the studio in Colorado for their next album. ROBLOCK will be unveiled one brand new songs for the crowd, too. 

UPDATE: Darkroom had a productive time in Colorado (in spite of a few vehicular breakdowns) and is back in the area, wrapping up the recording. They just started playing shows again, so be sure to catch them at their next one.

On Thursday, June 25, ROBLOCK competed in JammerDirect's JamNation Single Search at Pierre's in Fort Wayne. We'll stunned the crowd with a 30 minute set. See some new photos from this event below! 

Wow! We had a great time rockin' the studio at Elkhart Internet Radio on Sunday, April 19th. Rock fans from all over the world tuned in through iTunes, Windows Media streams, and various AM and FM stations that rebroadcasted the  XERS feed. 

Our hosts, Fozzie, Pickles, and Sybil were fun and enthusiastic about our music. They got us off on a few rabbit trails during some between-song-interviews, had a few laughs, and generally rocked the airwaves. These people have so much personality it leaks all over the studio. Pat, the DJ from Dustin' the Vinyl show hung out after his shift to enjoy the show.

The show was rebroadcast later that night. WERS is choping out just a few of the best songs from the recording and plug them into their regular rotation. We even did a promo for them (a first for ROBLOCK).

ROBLOCK was the featured band at the Kosciusko County Fair on Tuesday, July 7th. We had a blast on the Free stage right on the end of the midway. Our friends, Civilian Street opened up the night for us in grand fashion. The weather was perfect and the fried fair food was bountiful. Thanks to all those that showed up to hear us and to all those that stopped their fair browsing to hear a song or four.

ROBLOCK was formed by David McCall and Tom Wagoner with a desire to create exciting, fun, original rock and roll. They recruited a previous bandmate, Dave Grant to bring the rock with his incredble guitar skills. The trio enjoyed a tightness not normal to a newer band since they all played together previously. The missing front man piece was perfectly fitted with Joel Squires. His vocals tie the music together and his creative percussive ventures infuse an element of surprise and discovery into the songs. 

ROBLOCK fuses classic and post-modern Rock and Roll sounds with creative percussion, modern looping, and effects techniques to create a surprisingly layered and full sound with just four members.

The first album, Swords Knives Alibis is finally finished and ready for public consumption! You can downoad the sample mp3s on this page for free! Even though Swords Knives Alibis took us over a year to produce, ROBLOCK didn't let that project slow down their new song writing. New songs continue to be written and refined.
