Smash Alley Records
formed around Downbreed's three full-length releases. The Downbreed project was ended with the tragic death of bassist Samuel OBrian Honeycutt on 9.12.03. These discs have set a high standard for all label projects to follow. All three feature Jef Conn (vocals), Mark Vela (guitar), Brian Honeycutt (bass), Gary Wenglikowski (drums).
Fallen
is an exclusive act signed to this label. This band showed us the future of junk metal during a blistering 40-minute set in Chicago. Under label CEO Kent Christon's direction, Fallen was immediately signed and rushed into the studio for "Welcome to Junk Metal". The release put Fallen in front of Anthrax among other national acts, touring all of 2002 - 2003.
Fallen's critically acclaimed sophomore release, "Seconds From A Beatdown", features incredible production value with the perfect blend of attitude and originality. The bands Live shows are legendary and they captured their presence on this recording. Watch your speed listening to this jewel.
Defiant Nature
Out of Grand Rapids, MI, demands respect with a math
metal clinic. All members were under 21 when they were put into the studio. This young act has opened for over thirty national acts and can hold their own with anyone. Two tracks off this disc were used in an underground cult classic film shot and cast up there that enjoyed rave national reviews.
Industrial Strength
will stun you with the leap they took on their
second disc, being released under Smash Alley Records early in 2004. The
new Industrial Strength project features incredible production value, tying
all eleven songs together. If you like true heavy metal, this is one purest. . Vocalist Pat Martin did an exceptional job co-producing. Recorded at T-Bush with Tim Bushong engineering.
SLAGG
High energy performances brought this Wells County four-piece to Smash Alley President/CEO Kent Christon's attention. Strong writing and their "closer" mentality has earned them a huge fan base. Smash Alley put them in the studio with metal smelter Tim Bushong. The result, "Think Less, Feel More," has them nominated for a variety of accolades in 2006. Check out the band at www.slaggband.com.
Dilate
This four-piece has rolled over a bunch of quality performers. Set to be released this spring, this is yet another T-Bush project engineered by Tim Bushong. Heavy on guitar and attitude, Dilate is here to stay. The disc is nearly complete and, as always, an engineering masterpiece. They are at home on any stage, so look for these guys in 2006.
